About Brittany L. Dykes

Attorney Brittany L. Dykes graduated from Tennessee State University in 2009, earning a bachelor's degree in English and obtaining teacher certification in Tennessee. She then attended Florida Coastal School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctor degree in 2012.

While in law school, Mrs. Dykes served as President of the Coastal Association of Public Interest Law (CAPIL), leading efforts to increase interest in social activism and volunteer activities among her peers. She also served as Vice President of the FCSL Democrats and completed her final semester as a visiting student at Loyola University in New Orleans.

In May 2014, she became licensed to practice law in Louisiana shortly after the birth of her first daughter. She later returned to Tennessee, obtained her second license, and subsequently opened her own office.

From 2010 to 2016, Mrs. Dykes gained experience working with multiple family law attorneys and in various other legal areas. She interned with the Georgia Justice Project, working on restoring voting rights for formerly incarcerated individuals and processing expungements of criminal records. She also interned with Attorney Rick Sichta in Florida on multiple death penalty appeals cases. Beginning her career in Louisiana, she worked on cases in family law, personal injury, and class actions, including the BP Oil Spill and Bogalusa, LA, Paper Mill Spill litigation.

Mrs. Dykes is currently a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Knoxville Bar Association, and Blount County Bar Association. In 2022, she was appointed Co-Chair of the Knoxville Bar Association Small Firm and Solo Practitioner Section, serving for two years.

Since opening her office in 2016, Mrs. Dykes has focused her practice on Family Law and Juvenile Law, including Divorce, Child Custody, Child Support, Dependency & Neglect Matters, Termination of Parental Rights, Adoptions, and Juvenile Criminal Defense and Guardian ad litem representation.

As for her personal life, she is happily married and the mother of two beautiful active girls. They love the New Orleans Saints and the University of Tennessee Volunteers. When they are not traveling for competitive all-star cheerleading or going to Disney World, they enjoy mountain vacations to hike and see new waterfalls, as well as adventures to the beach!
